It is almost certain that Michael van der Mark will make his debut in the MotoGP™ class this weekend at the Motul TT Assen. Currently, the final details are being worked out for the Dutchman to act as a replacement this weekend for the injured Czech Karel Abraham.
After two fantastic podiums earlier this year at the Dutch round of the World Superbike Championship at Assen, the chances are very high that motorsport fans will get to enjoy the skills of the reigning World Supersport Champion at the 85th TT Assen this weekend. The Dutchman has in fact been put forward by Honda as a direct replacement for Abraham, who was injured at the Catalan Grand Prix.
The deal is still pending, but sources around the Czech team indicate that both parties are working hard to sort out the last details. It appears that it is only a matter of time before the news is officially announced by Honda, the Czech AB Motoracing team and Van der Mark.
