Biaggi: "Bradl would be a gift for Aprilia"

Biaggi: 'Bradl would be a gift for Aprilia'

Former MotoGP™ rider and double WSBK champion Max Biaggi spoke to Germany's about the rumors of Stefan Bradl racing for Aprilia for the remainder of the season after the difficulties with Forward Racing.

Biaggi, who earned five out of his six World Titles on Aprilia machinery, is currently making his second wild card appearance at the 10th round of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship at Sepang this weekend, and has said: “It would be a gift for Aprilia [if Bradl would ride]. He is in a difficult situation now and would have to take over a non-winning bike, but getting the chance to further ride MotoGP.”

“Aprilia needs someone willing to work and to give 100 per cent. A rider that grows with them. The Aprilia has to be developed to mix it up with the best of this class. Stefan rode a Yamaha recently and for three years before that a Factor Honda. He knows exactly what a good bike has to be like – which Aprilia now only can imagine. A rider like Stefan Bradl exactly knows to tell you, what to do, what has to be done on chassis and engine.”

“The Aprilia RS-GP is not a winning bike in the MotoGP. After three or four races I expect him to surprise. But don’t expect Top 8 or Top 10 – that is going to be difficult, also due to the potential of the bike.”
