Yamaha’s Meregalli & Jarvis praise riders

Yamaha’s Meregalli & Jarvis praise riders

Less than 48 hours after the checkered flag in Brno and the interest in the MotoGP™ World Championship is more alive than ever, thanks to the incredibly tense title battle that sees the two Movistar Yamaha teammates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo on top of the standings jointly with 211 points.

Italian newspaper ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’ ran an interview on Tuesday with Movistar Yamaha’s Team Principal Massimo Meregalli and Managing Director Lin Jarvis about how satisfied they are with the team’s performance this year.

Meregalli stating: “Jorge and Valentino have put us in a situation that all teams dream off.” The Italian adding: “Jorge’s win has a double value too, as not only did he draw level on points with Rossi, he sent a clear message to Marquez and Honda.”

Jarvis echoed his thoughts: “I do not care who wins the title, as long as we win. To complete a one-two would be the ultimate result.” He went on to clarify that the atmosphere between the two teammates is not as frosty as in the past: “Today they are more mature, and have more respect for each other than in the past.” Finally on the prospect of the title being decided between the two at Valencia he simply said: “I don’t want to think about it!”
