Rossi: “If I continue, it will be for two seasons”

Valentino Rossi spoke with SKY Sport MotoGP HD, the channel that shows the MotoGP™ World Championship in Italy, about the coming season and where he may be beyond 2016. “At the end of 2016 my contract will expire,” said the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider, “So I will have to decide whether to continue for another two seasons or not. If I continue, it will be for two seasons as all the contracts are for two years.”

With almost all of the factory riders having contracts expiring at the end of 2016, the competition will be fierce for the top rides in MotoGP™. Rossi has no plans to wait till the end of the season to make his decision however, “It will be like 2014 when I said: I will look at it after the first few races. You have to look at the first 5-6 races then start thinking.”

Despite being the oldest rider on the premier class grid, 2015 proved that age is just a number for Valentino Rossi who remains hungry for a tenth world title and is able to compete at the highest level.
