Miller to On Track Off Road: "I did it the right way"

Aussie Assen winner talks victory, the ladder up to MotoGP™ and the struggle against injury

After a season that saw many ups and downs for Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Jack Miller, including that stunning first MotoGP™ win at the TT Circuit Assen, the Aussie former Moto3™ title contender has talked to On Track Off Road about injury, the move up to MotoGP™, and that incredible first taste of cava on the premier class podium.

Jack Miller: "A lot of people are going 'oh, he ruined his career' or whatever, by switching to MotoGP as early as I did, but I think I did it the right way. Look at Tito. He's a World Champion in Moto2 and has so much experience in that category, which I never rode. And he's struggling. [...] It will be interesting to see how Jonas (Folger) and those guys go."

As well as his swift move up to the premier class, Miller talks to the magazine about his motocross accident ahead of last season - and further time off track following some in-season crashes - and how his Assen win has changed him:

Jack Miller: "It definitely changed my life. I think it just put a lot more fuel in my fire. It made me even hungrier than I was. We've had some ups and downs, especially breaking my back and everything like that. [...] But then the last two races, I started building up on it again. So I'm reasonably happy at the moment."

Miller will be hoping to begin 2017 fully fit and fired up, with the first test of the year fast approaching and the countdown really on as Sepang International Circuit prepares to play host - from January 30th.
