Team Telefonica Movistar Honda: Daijiro Katoh on front row again

DONINGTON PARK - The typical English weather, as expected, has welcomed thecircus of MotoGP on the first day of qualifying session of British GrandPrix at Donington Park. A cloudy sky and some rain affected the official 250class practice making everybody´s set up work complicated.

Telefonica MoviStar Honda Japanese rider Daijiro Katoh, who celebrated his25th birthday two days ago, succeeded anyway in ending second fastest andSpanish team mate Alzamora, who scored his first 250 podium last week inHolland, provisionally got ninth.

´Last year I rode for the first time ever on this track and it was raining,so I could not really learn that much about this circuit. I arrived lastWednesday and it was a big pleasure for me to see that the sun was shining.Today we had first qualifying and again the weather got bad and this madethings not so nice for everybody, I guess. Finally I was second fastest, butI wish I could have better conditions to work on my NSR and find a good setup and also a good tyre for race, but considering how unpredictable theweather is here, you never know. Anyway, we still have one more day to runand I´m looking forward to tomorrow´.

Emilio Alzamora #7 - Honda NSR 250Best lap: 1´36.109Position: 9th

´It´s a pity because we were working well, but then in the afternoon itstarted to rain and we could not continue the same good direction we tookthis morning. I like this track, I have nice memories of past year in 125and considering it is the first time I ride NSR250 here, I´m happy I gotsecond fastest during free practice. I just hope tomorrow we´ll have dryconditions, so to set up properly my machine and get ready for Sunday race´.
