West Honda Pons: Barros and Capirossi, candidates to a victory in Sachsenring

Alexandre Barros and Loris Capirossi achieved the third and seventh position respectively in the second qualifying practice for the German Grand Prix held in Sachsenring circuit. The West Honda Pons Team riders were again the first Hondas classified on the grid and are among the favourites for tomorrow´s race.

Alexandre Barros (3rd):

´In spite of the crash, I am satisfied with the result. I think that the bike is ready to try to win, as I did last year. I have some chattering problems with the front tyre, which have caused my fall, but I am confident and willing to do my best.´

Loris Capirossi (7th):

´We´ve worked well and have been able to solve the set-up problems we had yesterday. In the last lap I was making a time nearly half a second faster, but I got a fright and I prefer to slow down and not to take a risk. In the contact with Criville I think he has relaxed a bit, but I gave him my apologies, because I really regret it.´

Sito Pons (Team Manager):

´We had a really exciting last session, with continuous changes in the first positions. Alex and Loris fought during all the session for the pole position and I am sure that they have the appropriate rhythm to fight for victory tomorrow´.

Antonio Cobas (Chief Engineer):

´The riders had to work on the set-up until the last minute, as this is a new circuit. That reduced to a very few minutes the time they had to try to get the pole, so the fight for it has been shorter than in other races, but much more intense´.
