Aprilia 125

Aprilia 125

Andrea Ballerini #50 (Bossini Fontana Racing) the replacement rider of Caffiero as team mate of Max Sabbatani, took third place and proved that he is much more advanced than a European Championship rider:

´The difference with the European Championship is obvious: This is a great team and a great bike. I am happy and I hope to be able to continue like this until Saturday is over´.

Lucio Cecchinello #9 (MS Aprilia LCR) the day was dedicated to the working on the set up rather than getting a good time. Therefore fifth place is a good result:´The set up of the rear shock absorber is not perfect yet therefore I didn´t want to push very hard today. When I saw ´P2´ on my pit board, there were four minutes left in the session, and so I didn´t try any harder. Considering that fifth place is not bad´.

Max Sabbatani #11 (Bossini Fontana Racing) eighth place doesn´t make Sabattaini very happy, but he is still quite relaxed and confident: ´The pole position that I had until four minutes before the end, slipped through my fingers. The motorcycle is set up quite well, and I could have gone even faster, but the tyre that we chose started to slide after two or three laps. Tomorrow, we will try harder compounds in order to see if we can do better».

Simone Sanna #16 (Safilo Oxydo Race) 14th place can´t satisfy a racing thoroughbred like the rider from Tuscany:´It´s obvious that we have a few problems, the motor isn´t performing the same way in all gears, it is a little bit inconsistent. But we are not too far away so we only have to improve a little to be with the front runners´.

Gino Borsoi #23 (LAE UGT 3000) In this Grand Prix of the season, Borsoi has big plans to make up for his bad luck, and because Rio turns out to be a fantastic place to celebrate. So far, he is in 15th place. ´I´m not satisfied because I´m always right in the middle of everything. Nothing serious, but we have to work to keep the motorcycle on the road, because the way it behaves now you can´t go at a strong pace.´
