Crivillé and Abe setting good times in Valencia

Alex Crivillé and Norick Abe continue their preseason schedule this weekend at the circuit of Valencia, having kicked off in Almería earlier this week. The Repsol YPF Yamaha d´Antín team began a two day test in excellent style on Friday, with both riders setting good lap times and demonstrating their ability to maintain a consistent rhythm over many laps.

Crivillé, who worked mainly on suspension settings on the first day, stopped the clock at 1´36.3, with Norick Abe setting a best time of 1´35.5. ´My impressions of the bike after the first day of testing here in Valencia have not changed,´ said Criville. ´It´s a bike that I like and that I´m adapting easily to. We already have references to work from at this circuit and we are beginning to find our direction. I´ve been able to complete many laps at a constant rhthym and everything is going as I had hoped.´

Meanwhile, his Japanese colleague commented: ´I set my best lap quite easily. I like this year´s machine. The Yamaha technicians have made it a lot better with respect to last year, so on Saturday I hope to go even faster.´

Team Manager Luis d´Antín was also happy with the work of his squad: ´Everything is going as we had planned. Both Alex and Norick are setting a good rhythm and are capable of lapping quickly and consistently. They are both happpy with the motorcycles, so the important thing is that they complete this phase of adaptation and then direct their work more towards the set-up of the bike.´
