HRC and Repsol YPF have officially announced that they will continue their partnership this season, with the Spanish petrol firm again to be the main sponsor of the Japanese factory for the inaugural season of new MotoGP category. The agreement was reached after lengthy negotiations between the two parties.

The deal, which was officially revealed during the current IRTA test session at the Montmelo circuit in Catalunya, means that the collaboration between the two companies will now continue for another seven years.

The record of the Honda Repsol team is one of the most outstanding in World Championship history, it comprises some 53 Grand Prix victories, 125 podiums and five 500cc world titles, four from Mick Doohan and the other from Alex Criville.
