Kawasaki release first pictures of MotoGP prototype racer

Kawasaki have released the first pictures of their MotoGP racer, named the ZX-RR. Although the picture is just a concept drawing, the Japanese firm are currently working on a prototype of the machine and completed some testing laps with an embryonic version at Sepang in February.

The ZX-RR will this year appear alongside the Suzuki GSV-R in the All-Japan Superbike series. It is also expected to feature as a wildcard entry at some Grand Prix events before the end of the 2002 season, with its full incorporation to the World Championship anticipated for 2003.

Full technical specifications for the ZX-RR are not yet known, although Kawasaki have confirmed that the 4 cylinder machine will have a capacity just under the 990cc limit.
