Dark Dog Challenge to MotoGP underway in Germany

The Dark Dog Challenge to MotoGP is now underway in Germany with 25 young riders hoping to establish a career amongst the elite of motorcycle racing. The project to help foster talent to enter into MotoGP was officially announced at the Sachsenring circuit last year during the German Grand Prix, and is based on the highly successful Activa Joven Movistar Cup in Spain which has seen the progression of Dani Pedrosa and Joan Olivé to World Championship competition.

So far the budding stars have been put through their paces in private testing sessions at the Maggione Circuit in Italy, where they have lapped under the watchful eye of 125cc and 250cc Grand Prix winner Ralf Waldmann. Now the youngsters are preparing for the first race of this new ADAC-promoted competition, which takes place on May 12 at the Lausitzring circuit in Germany.
