Randy Mamola looks back on Africa´s Grand Prix in Welkom

´It was a very intense race both at the head of the of the field, and amongst the chasing pack. Rossi performed best throughout the weekend, and for most of the race itself, but he couldn't shake off Ukawa, who was already ready and waiting for a mistake from his team-mate, and in the end that tactic paid off well in the form of his victory. What Ukawa did to Rossi was very similar to what used to happen between Alex Criville and Mick Doohan.´

´I think it´s also worth praising the great race that the two NSR500 riders had. Loris Capirossi and Daijiro Katoh both rode really well, and demonstrated the great quality that they have´.
