Testing continues despite wet conditions in Mugello

Several MotoGP teams continued their testing programmes at Mugello today despite wet conditions restricting progress. The Marlboro Yamaha 4 stroke pairing of Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi both lapped until the evening, with the team eventually asking for more track time as the surface began to dry later in the day. They were joined at the Italian circuit by Regis Laconi, Marcelino Lucchi (Aprilia), John Hopkins, Jean-Michel Bayle (Red Bull Yamaha) and Tetsuya Harada (Pramac Honda).

`It has been a good test in some ways and not so good in others,´ commented Checa at the end of the session. `We have been unable to test suspension settings and other variables because of the conditions but at least we now have some data in the wet and I am much happier than I was at Suzuka when it rained for the race. We worked mainly on engine braking and other settings in the motor´.
