Motocross stars make appearance at Polini Grand Prix de France

The MotoGP and Motocross World Championships came together today as riders from the mud turned up to support their road-racing counterparts. Factory Honda riders Andrea Bartolini, Josh Coppins and Pit Beirer were present as was Kawasaki's Andrew McFarlane and tennage KTM sensation Ben Townley. The Honda trio were taken on a tour of the Honda set-up, including their pit, hospitality and trucks, and got to meet reigning World Champion Valentino Rossi after the MotoGP bikes finished their warm-up.

As Bartolini and Rossi chatted away about being 500cc Champions, Coppins remarked, "This is such an impressive set-up, with what looks like 150,000 people packing the stands. It's completely different to the last time I went to a race in Australia in 1993. They say that the GP riders have respect for us, but I have to say that we also do for them for the speeds they travel at." The riders watched the 125 start from the pit wall before continuing their tour of the paddock.
