Randy Mamola looks back on the Polini Grand Prix de France

The MotoGP race ended early because of the rain but there was plenty of action before the red flag was raised. From my point of view the moment which influenced the race the most was when Harada went off track, because this left gravel on the track which resulted in Carlos Checa, Shinya Nakano and Olivier Jacque joining the Japanese rider in the pit lane, unable to finish.

Other than this incident, I believe that Rossi rode very comfortably and had a good race at the front. Yamaha demonstrated that they can now challenge for victories and Suzuki also demonstrated their progress with fifth place for Kenny Roberts.
