The first day of qualifying was very competitive and it was interesting to see a two-stroke in the shape of Loris Capirossi on provisional pole. It is that sort of track though and I don´t see any reason why the likes of Capirossi, Barros or even Kato can´t be up there. The hot conditions mean that tyre life is very short, and the two-strokes have an advantage in that respect because they are lighter and don´t burn up rubber so quickly.

I think from the four-stroke point of view the session today was a good chance to get some testing done and tomorrow will be a case of concentrating on race set-up.
