Max Sabbatani explains his progress following his horror injury

Everything seems to have gone as well as it could. The injury is getting better everyday and I´m happy. At the moment I´m just concentrating on my recovery. In the mornings I have rehabilitation sessions, and I the evenings I have treatment in a compression chamber. This has meant that I have had to leave my home in Forli and go to Imola to the clinic of Doctor Costa. I have already had some of the pins removed after the final operation, and the skin graft they did to close the injury has not caused any problems. Everything is getting back to normal little by little. It´s possible that I could be walking again by tomorrow, and then we´ll see how things go after that.

I have to be honest and say I´m not used to being away from the action at the circuits. It makes me agitated when I see the others on their bikes, as I know it will be a while before I can race again. Obviously, I don´t want to set unrealistic targets for myself and I know I´ll miss the race in Assen, but hopefully I might be ready to get back on the bike by the time of the British Grand Prix. However, this is not definite, and we´ll have to wait until next week before we can more accurately predict when I´ll be back out on the track.
