Pedrosa keeps pole in the rain at Assen

Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa maintained the pole he claimed yesterday in the 125 class, after a session marked by a huge downpour in Assen. The riders left the pits in dry conditions, but after just five minutes, the heavens opened and all the riders headed back to their respective boxes to wait for the rain to ease. It wasn´t until 14 minutes from the end that the sun reappeared and the riders returned to the track.

The circuit did not dry out, but teams made use of the conditions to work on their wet set-ups for the eventuality that tomorrow´s race might take place in similar conditions.

Pedrosa comfortably preserved his first position, and in doing so took his third pole of the season, ahead of Lucio Cecchinello and Alex de Angelis. Mika Kallio confirmed his best ever result in championship qualifying by completing tomorrow´s front row in fourth. The second row will be made up of Vincent, Poggiali, Rodríguez and Jenkner.
