What a dramatic race it was ! The 2-strokes, in the shape of the Gauloises Yamaha with Olivier Jacque and the West Honda with Alex Barros, did a fantastic job on this tight circuit. It´s basically a Yamaha track, because Biaggi and Checa finished first and second last year. This weekend, Olivier Jacque was really trying to hold the flag for Yamaha.

Unfortunately, with two laps to go, Barros tried to go underneath, lost the front end and took out Olivier Jacque. But Rossi´s win wasn´t a free gift as he said : despite this disheartening accident, he had to push had to secure the win from Biaggi and Ukawa. With Rossi winning eight races out of nine and Honda getting a 100% win rate, I would say it´s a bit early to talk about who could beat them, but Biaggi got closer and Ukawa was also there. So I look forward the next race in Brno, after the four weeks break.
