MotoGP riders get royal appointment by the sea

A group Spanish riders and MotoGP celebrities headed for Mallorca last weekend to the Kings Cup of Sailing. Sete Gibernau, Fonsi Nieto, Toni Elías, Joan Olivé, Dani Pedrosa, Alberto Puig and Angel Nieto were joined by rally star Carlos Sainz as guests of Telefónica MoviStar at the Real Club Náutico de Palma where they gave their support to Pedro Campos and the Rodman 42 team, who are also sponsored by the communications giant.

The riders took the opportunity to meet the King of Spain, Juan Carlos I, who enquired about their sporting exploits. The `Telefonica Movistar´ squad were seemingly inspired by their exhalted company as they took victory in the IMS 600 class.

The World Championship riders are currently enjoying their holidays and several are relaxing on the nearby island of Ibiza as they look forward to the next round of the season at Brno on the 25th August.
