Bad memories for Poggiali at Brno

Bad memories for Poggiali at Brno

The Brno circuit holds few good memories for World Champion Manuel Poggiali as his results there have been of the worst in his career. In fact, the circuit which this weekend plays host to the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky has been the circuit at which the Gilera rider has scored fewest points during his GP career so far.

Last year Poggiali crashed out on the twelfth lap and left empty handed, although it kickstarted a run of form which eventually carried him to the title. In the previous season Poggiali, who was then riding for Derbi, finished twelfth, picking up four points, whilst in his rookie year in 1999 he failed to score any at the Czech venue. Poggiali arrives at Brno leading the 125cc World Championship by seven points from Arnaud Vincent.
