The result of the Gauloises Grand Prix Ceske Republiky this weekend saw Marlboro Yamah close down the gap on Repsol Honda in the Team World Championship. The retirement of Valentino Rossi and the 16 points for Tohru Ukawa represented the lowest haul of the year for Repsol Honda, whilst 25 for race winner Max Biaggi and 11 for fifth placed Carlos Checa was Marlboro Yamaha´s best effort of the season.

Repsol Honda Team still lead the series with 360 points compared to 230 for Malboro Yamaha and 175 for West Honda Pons. Antena 3 Yamaha D'Antín are a further 78 points behind whilst the only team not to score in Brno was MS Aprilia Racing, who lie one point above Kanemoto Racing on 28.
