Sylvain Guintoli shares his thoughts after his first MotoGP stint

Brno was a weekend full of emotions, as I was coming back to racing - I hadn´t raced since Rio last year! But above all things, it was my first race in MotoGP. It was a nice weekend, as everything turned out well. The most important thing was to complete some good work with the team. That kind of bike doesn´t forgive any mistake, and a single glitch could have wasted the whole weekend. So I was very serious, I´ve been progressing without making any mistakes and I finished the race. After that, this experience could prove to be a good base in the future.

During the race, the pace was very high. In the early laps of the race, I was following Laconi and Harada, but it didn´t last long. I had previously lost some precious time when Shinya crashed in front of me on the third lap. It may be the only disappointment of the weekend, as it would have been great to fight with them on my first MotoGP appearance! Later, I knew I could not catch them, as they increased their pace, but I was still able to see them. Once more this year, the times were very close and much more faster than last year - compared to last year´s results, I would have finish ahead of Olivier (Jacque) with my race time.

I managed to finish the race and the overall performance was good. I think I did a good job getting to grips with MotoGP racing. I definitively have to do it again - now I hope to get a ride for the next season. With Tech3 and Gauloises we are now considering what we could do for the next year. Now I that I had a taste of it, I really want to come back.
