MotoGP riders turn tourists in the Portuguese sunshine

Daijiro Kato was one of a group of riders who this afternoon took advantage of the Portuguese sunshine to block out any nerves ahead of an intense weekend at Estoril by visiting local areas of interest. Kato, one of the favourites for Sunday´s MotoGP race, was joined by Kenny Roberts, Loris Capirossi, Carlos Checa, Sebastian Porto and Casey Stoner on a visit to Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point of continental Europe and the last stop for many an explorer on their way across the Atlantic Ocean.

The riders also met local historian Henry the Navigator, who explained the importance of the location to the riders in a variety of languages. From there the group visited Boca do Inferno, a stunning rock formation created by the waves in the cliff face just south of the Estoril circuit.
