A dominant Pedrosa clinches victory in Motegi

Spaniard Daniel Pedrosa won the 125 race, leading from the second lap to the chequered flag, while technical problems prevented Championship leader Arnaud Vincent from taking second. In the late stages of the race, Vincent lost positions and scored a single point by crossing the line in 15th. The Frenchman still leads the Championship with a 8 points advantage over Poggiali, and 24 points over Pedrosa.

Poggiali spent most of the race ahead of Steve Jenkner, while Pedrosa and Vincent were leading the race, but the World Champion benefited from Vincent´s problems to come back in the battle for the title. Vincent was the fastest at the start of the race, but Pedrosa managed to recover the lead on the second lap. Then Vincent settled for second.

Behind Pedrosa and Poggiali, Jenkner took his fifth rostrum finish of the season, ahead of Nieto and Barbera. Mika Kallio was sixth. Italian rider Andrea Dovizioso crashed out of third on the second lap.
