With the 125cc World Championship building towards another exciting climax at Sepang this weekend, Telefónica Movistar Júnior Team Manager Alberto Puig once again finds his team with an outside chance of the title. Last year it was Toni Elias, who lost hope of taking the crown with sixth place here, and this time around it is his former team-mate Dani Pedrosa who lies in third place, with 16 points less than Manuel Poggiali and 24 behind the leader Arnaud Vincent. Pedrosa´s victory in Motegi give him a mathematical chance, but Puig is careful not to put any pressure on the 17 year old.

´We are not thinking about the title because we don´t think it is right,´ says Puig, himself a 500cc Grand Prix winner. `We have to try our best at each race and take these last three one by one, see what happens and act accordingly.´

Puig, who credits the fact they have had two title challengers in the last two years to the hard work of his team, is excited by the progress made by Pedrosa: ´Dani is very young, his progression in general since he began competing has been exceptional and this year he has continued to work in the same way. He has matured a lot since the start of the season and he has nothing to fear from any other rider in the class´.

The Spaniard sees the performance of their Honda machines as at a similar level as last year: ´Compared to our rivals the bikes are very similar to last year. What I mean by that is that the difference is more or less the same. If anything the Hondas have improved acceleration. I also have to say that the work being completed by the team mechanics is what is squeezing the absolute maximum potential out of the bikes.´
