Matti Seidel and Georg Fröhlich take next step after Dark Dog Challenge to MotoGP

Matti Seidel and Georg Fröhlich will take their next step towards Grand Prix stardom in 2003 when they contest the German and European 125cc Championships. The 17 year old and the 14 year old were both discovered this year in the Dark Dog Challenge to MotoGP, a series designed to uncover racing talent in Germany. After eight races the pair were selected as the most promising candidates.

`It wasn´t an easy choice´, explained Adi Stadler, one of the series organisers. `All the riders have made great progress over the season but our experts have to choose. Matti has showed a continually improving curve of results as he went on to win the competition and has shown a controlled and safe riding style. Georg stood out with his rapid progress in the second half of the season. His style on the production Honda has been progressively solid and he won the final round of the series´.

Seidel and Fröhlich will tackle their new challenges for 2003 with the same machines, prepared by tuner Sepp Schloegl. Within another year they could be preparing for their first season in the 125cc World Championship, again with the Honda.
