Bayliss tests Desmosedici ahead of public debut in Valencia

After a series of `shakedown´ tests at Mugello during the summer, Ducati Corse´s development programme continued this week as Troy Bayliss rode the Ducati Desmosedici MotoGP machine in a two day test at Valencia. Bayliss concentrated mainly on settings, front tyres and bike set-up, and completed a total of 118 laps in the two day session.

`We´ve done a really good job these past two days´ declared Bayliss at the end of the test on Wednesday. `The conditions of the track weren´t so good but today in particular we got a lot of work done. We´ve made a lot more progress since Mugello and I´m feeling better every time I step on the bike. There are a lot more things to do, but we are getting there´.

The Australian will be back at the Spanish track in just over a week, when the Desmosedici makes its first public appearance at the Gran Premio Marlboro de la Comunitat Valenciana. Bayliss will complete several demonstration laps ahead of the 125cc race on Sunday morning. Ducati Corse will then stay in Valencia to resume their testing programme on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th November, when Loris Capirossi will make his debut aboard the four-stroke machine.
