Max Sabbatani keen to draw a line under the season

Max Sabbatani, the Italian 27 year-old who is on the verge on completing his fourth full season in the 125cc World Championship, spoke to motograndprix.com after a training session on a bike as he prepares for this weekend's Gran Premio Marlboro de la Comunitat Valenciana. This season has not been one of results and glory for Sabbatani, who has spent most time recovering from serious injury, ´Certainly this is a year to forget, and I am looking forward to next season's campaign already,´ he commented. Sabbatani's problems arose after a serious crash in Mugello, after which he lost three races when at one point it seemed like he may miss more, and then his team decided to substitute him with three races remaining.

Sabbatani will complete the season on board one of Simone Sanna's Aprilias, and is in a somewhat precarious situation, although he is trying to change that, ´I am working with a team that already has enough work with its own riders, and my situation isn't easy because I can't get the same attention or help.´ The Italian is optimistic regarding the last round in Valencia, ´I like the track, and the fans are great, so the race is always good there, as long as the sun's out. The IRTA tests there went well for me, and I only hope that I run out of bad luck so I can enjoy the last race of the year´.
