Randy de Puniet wants to end on a high

After a streak of disappointing results during the summer, Randy de Puniet displayed strong performances in the late stages of the season. In Brazil, he clinched his first pole and in Japan, he took third on the grid. Unfortunately, he crashed in Rio after struggling with mist on his visor, and in Motegi, he wasn´t able to take the start due to a technical problem. Since then, he took two sixth places in Malaysia and Australia.

The Frenchman hopes to confirm to be back in form in Valencia, for the last race of the season : ´I hope to have a good race, and get on the podium maybe, but it will be tough, as there are at least five riders who fight for the top three. This year, we saw the factory bikes have the edge in terms of acceleration, and this is very important in Valencia. However, I remain hopeful. In the last couple of races, I was as strong as earlier this year, and even more consistent. I want to end the season on a high note´. $$$End of season also means end of contract for many riders ; talking about his future in the quarter litre class, Randy de Puniet explains he will stick with the Campetella Racing : ´I´m 90% sure I will be in the same team. I´m quite satisfied with the work we did this year, and I will sign in Valencia. Regarding the bike, I know I will have an extra bike to work with, but I will also get the same tyres as the front runners. There´s also a chance to get a factory bike, but I believe the most important thing is to get the best tyres´.
