Edwards and Haga renew a winning partnership

Newly-formed Aprilia partnership Colin Edwards and Noriyuki Haga will take on the MotoGP World Championship next season in the knowledge that they are already a winning combination. The pair rode together for Yamaha at the 1996 Suzuka 8 hours and took a storming victory to end a spell of Honda dominance at the event.

Edwards was just 22 years of age at the time and Haga a year younger, making them the youngest ever team to win the prestigious race as they set a record number of laps with 214. It ended a six year dry spell for Yamaha at Suzuka, with their previous win coming in 1990 with Taira and Lawson. The pair went on to huge successes with different manufacturers on the world stage and now pose a mouthwatering combination for Aprilia´s assult on the MotoGP title.
