Aprilia continue Cube development at Valencia

Aprilia´s MotoGP squad today completed the first of a two day session at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. Enjoying perfect weather conditions at the Cheste venue, Colin Edwards and Noriyuki Haga were joined by no fewer than 16 other riders on a congested track made even more precarious by slippery black marks left by Formula 1 tests last week.

Both riders are currently adapting the notoriously unforgiving Cube to their own characteristics and set identical times of 1:35.3, still some way behind the best efforts of factory Yamaha riders Alex Barros and Carlos Checa at the same circuit recently. The Brazilian had clocked a 1:32.8, with the Spaniard just one tenth slower. The Italian factory, who have also recently tested at Jerez, will continue with their quest to get their prototype four-stroke racer up to speed with their Japanese rivals on the second and final day at Valencia on Thursday.
