250 riders share track with MotoGP peers in Estoril

The 250 riders once again share the track with the MotoGP machines in Estoril this week and were left kicking their heels in pit-lane for much of the day as the rain followed them down from Jerez. There was little change at the top of the time sheets once the riders did decided to lap, however, as Randy de Puniet set the fastest lap of the day with a time of 1:42.106. The Frenchman is in fine form, and clearly at home on his new 2003 Aprilia, even though he is currently having to make do with just one of the factory bikes until his second machine arrives. Behind De Puniet came Spaniard Toni Elias and the first of the Hondas, Roberto Rolfo, who had a crash in the wet during the afternoon session with no lasting effects.

Official times - 250cc class

1. Randy de Puniet (FRA) Aprilia – 1:43.625
2. Toni Elias (ESP) Aprilia – 1:44.994
3. Roberto Rolfo (ITA) Honda – 1:45.010
