Scot Racing make presentation in Italy

Team presentations continued apace this week and in the 125 class Scot Racing officially unveiled their 2003 line-up at a venue in Sarsina, near Forlí. The Italian team, who will have two HRC-backed RS 125 machines at their disposition, have opted for youth, with the relatively unknown 16 year old Simone Corsi lining up alongside Andrea Dovizioso, who is just one year older but already has a World Championship season under his belt.

Dovizioso finished last season in sixteenth spot but showed glimpses of his prodigious talent, with ninth placed finishes at Le Mans and Donington and fifth place on the grid at Motegi. Corsi, who won 300 minibike races before finishing third in the Italian 125 championship, made his first and only appearance as a wildcard at Mugello last season, when he finished 22nd.

$$$ The team will be led by experienced technicians Mirko Cecchini and Raoul Baronciani, and will be directed by founder Cirano Mularoni. `Our tradition is to discover and launch young talent in the World Championship,´ commented Mularoni. `After one year of gathering experience in 125, Dovizioso is ready to fight with the best riders in the category and confirmation of his maturity is Honda´s commitment to provide maximum technical support. Corsi steps into the shoes of Dovizioso. Although technically he will have the same equipment, he will have to complete a year of learning. In any case, everybody in the team gets the feeling he will try and spring a surprise.´
