Perspectives from the top three finishers from the first MotoGP race

Loris Capirossi, 3rd position: ´Third place today is like a win. My start really helped and I had been practicing throughout the week. Everybody at Ducati has worked very hard to put us in this position and to be honest I did not believe that we would be able to make a podium at the first race. For sure we will have better days´.

Max Biaggi, runner-up: ´Today in the race I just not catch Rossi. It is great to be back with Honda. It has been five years since I last rode one of their bikes and it was a decent comeback today, my first GP as part of a new team. 20 points is not a bad start and there are still 15 races left. For me this is a good position and I am quite happy´.

Valentino Rossi, winner: ´The conditions all over the weekend were difficult but today we showed the amount of work we put in over the winter really paid off because the setting of the bike was very good. Throughout the tests we were making race distances and gaining a lot of information about the bike and tyres. The start of the race was very hard and the fight was tough. I had to push a lot to take the win. It was important to gain the 25 points and start the season with victory in Suzuka´.
