A look at the wild-card entry for Jerez including Spanish youngster Angel Rodríguez

Of the riders invited to take part in the Grand Prix of Spain this weekend Angel Rodríguez is the more recognisable of the entrants and has the most World Championship experience. Rodriguez, who celebrates his 18th birthday only a few days after the race on Sunday, is set to ride an Aprilia as part of the Andalucia team AMF FIM. The rider from Valencia started the 2002 125cc season as a member of the Master-Aspar set-up but halfway through the year he was released after a set of unconvincing results. His last GP was also as a wild-card in the last round of 2002 at Valencia but on that occasion he was on a 250cc machine.

As well as Rodríguez, the `wild-cards´ for the 250cc GP are Luis Manuel Castro (Yamaha), Alvaro Molina (Aprilia) Javier del Amor (Yamaha) and Frenchman Gregory Leblanc (Honda).
