Riders for Health initiate new programme in name of Mike Hailwood

As a result of a particularly generous donation from Ducati Motor Holding and the Mike Hailwood Estate, MotoGP charity Riders for Health are to initiate a new programme in Africa dedicated to community health care in the name of former World Champion Mike Hailwood.

The programme will involve the purchase of a number of motorcycles so that all the health workers in the administrative district involved will have complete, reliable mobility. A programme of a similar kind in Binga, Zimbabwe, has already had a huge impact on health care delivery throughout the district.

The programme will be undertaken in close co-operation with the Ministry of Health in the country concerned and will involve other partners, including local non-governmental organisations. Further details will be announced shortly.
