Kenny Roberts arrived at the Circuit de Catalunya today after a brief trip to his native USA for treatment to injuries sustained at Mugello last Sunday, when he collided with team-mate John Hopkins. However, the former World Champion confirmed he was unfit to ride this weekend, and is hoping to return to action at Assen in a fortnight. He watched the action from the pit garage, where he was joined by Suzuki legend Kevin Schwantz and test rider Jean-Michel Bayle. On Monday and Tuesday Bayle will join Hopkins and factory rider Akioshi at the same circuit for two full days of testing aboard the GSV-R.

`Kenny is still very sore, and he is being treated by team physiotherapist Dean Miller,´ said Team Manager Garry Taylor. `John is also stiff and sore, and Dean will be looking after him as well to help him race. He will have a busy weekend. Kevin Schwantz is here as our guest, but I´m sure the whole team will welcome his observations. When the going is tough, there´s no better man to have around than Kevin.´
