TT Circuit Assen expecting to top 10 million Dutch TT visitors

This Saturday the 73rd edition of the Gauloises Dutch TT will be held with the TT Circuit Assen expecting to top 10 million visitors in the history of this time-honoured event. It is a milestone which the organisation have declared they will not let pass unnoticed, and to mark the occasion they have promised a brand new Honda CBR600RR, to be presented by MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi, for the 10 millionth visitor.

The average number of visitors to the Dutch TT practice and race day is around 137,000, with 1990 being an absolute top year. That was the year after Hans Spaan won the 125cc during the Dutch TT in 1989. In 1990 more than 210,000 TT fans descended upon Assen, including officials, riders and their team members, VIP´s and 201,840 paying visitors. On race day of that year a record number of 143,532 paying visitors was reached. 1982 was the first year in which the total number of visitors was more than 200,000, with the total hitting 209,000 visitors.
