Roby Rolfo already anxious to get started at Brno

It is just over a week now since I won my first race at Sachsenring and the feeling is still very nice. In the previous races I had come very near to victory so obviously I am experiencing a very different sensation and it is something I would love to repeat at Brno. The team will be approaching the race in a different way, with the aim of winning once again. At Donington and Assen the bike was competitive but we made some slight mistakes with the set-up and we could not find the limits of the new material. However, we made big steps in Germany and we are ready to continue fighting for victories.

This was our aim right from the start of the season, so now we have achieved it we want to stay on top. We know we can win more races, the bike has moved up a level thanks to HRC and we have a chance. I like Brno very much but it will not be an easy track for us because of the two long straights. Our bike is very good in most areas now, the chassis in particular, but we are still losing out on top speed and acceleration so that is the only thing that worries me with regard to the race.

Even though it took nine races for me to take my first win I am now second in the championship and only seven points behind Poggiali, so I am in a good position to fight for the title. The class is so open because there are a lot of competitive riders on similar bikes, but the level is very high and the lap times are fast. I have not been surprised by the way the championship has gone, because there were guys doing good times in the winter tests like De Puniet and Elias. Nieto had his problems at the start of the season but he is really strong now, so it is getting harder as the season goes on. However, I have to say I think Poggiali is still the strongest rival because he has an advantage in terms of machinery.

After I returned from Germany there was a huge party held by my fans club in my local village near Torino. There are only 2,000 people in the village, but there were 200 at the party! They had waited a long time for my first win, so for me to do it in such a hard race was special for them and they enjoyed it very much. We ate a lot of pizza and danced all night, but I was back training the next day because now I have to work harder than ever. I am on holiday but I am working hard and I will probably have just one more day on the beach before switching my attention 100% to Brno. See you there! Roby #3
