Mark Knopfler gets into the swing of MotoGP

Dire Straits lead singer Mark Knopfler is one of the MotoGP community's most famous members, and has often surprised fellow fans by turning up unannounced at Grand Prix events riding his own motorcycle. The ‘Sultan of Swing' was at the Cinzano British Grand Prix last month although he was forced to leave his bike at home after injuring himself in a recent crash, which also ruled him out of a planned tour. The singer/songwriter has spent a lot of time since the accident watching MotoGP on the television, and admitted that he had become hooked on the new generation of four-stroke prototypes which he saw in the flesh for the first time at Donington Park from the Proton Team KR garage.
