Quotes from the front row in Portugal

Toni Elias (1st): "We were lapping with a group of riders at a slow pace and suddenly I was hit by Kallio, who was on a fast lap, and I was sent to the ground. My bike hit me hard on the head and I felt a bit dizzy. It was a big scare but it was nothing serious. The doctors told me not to ride in the afternoon because I was still a bit fuzzy and sent me for a scan to check everything was okay."

Randy De Puniet (2nd): "I am pleased with my time and with my rhythm for the race. The aim is to keep my consistency going tomorrow and finish on the podium again."

Sylvain Guintoli (3rd): "I am absolutely delighted to be on the front row for the first time. My aim now is to get a good start and stay in the lead group throughout the race. If I can get on the podium that would be fantastic."

Manuel Poggiali (4th) : ""It's very difficult to ride because the wind is very strong. The track is dirty and slippery. We have to work in the warm up session in order to improve the setting regulations because in these conditions we have to be at 100% even if all the riders have the same problem. I already chose the tyres and I feel confident to get a good result. Anyway the main protagonist of the race will be the wind."
