Toni Elias, winner:

"I am so happy with this win. The weekend was going really well until a wild-card pushed me yesterday and I had a big crash. My head and stomach was hurting and I could not ride in second qualifying. Today I felt better and I started well. I tried twice to pull away and the second time I was able to get five seconds and I knew I could win the race from there. I must say a big thank you to my parents, friends and the medical centre for all their help."

Manuel Poggiali, runner-up:

"I knew it was important to follow Elias but I was stuck behind Porto when he made a mistake and that allowed him to get away. It was vital today to finish in front of Porto and Rolfo so I am happy."

Randy de Puniet, 3rd position:

"Third place is not a bad result although I am not so pleased with the race. After some laps I had a problem with my front brake and could not push anymore. On the last lap I saw Porto make a mistake and run into Rolfo and this allowed me to get on the podium."
