Quotes from the front row

Dani Pedrosa (1st): "The bike is going quite good – we need a bit more top speed and we have a slight problem with the front brake but in general I am satisfied. Motegi is one of my favourite circuits, where I feel very comfortable. I set a good time in the final qualifying, dropping my time from last year by three tenths, and I think I have a good rhythm."

Stefano Perugini (2nd): "We made some good changes form the morning to the afternoon which made it possible for me to set this time but Dani is very fast here and it will be very difficult to follow him. I think my best chance is to hope it rains!"

Jorge Lorenzo (3rd): "I should be happy to be on the front row but to be honest I had a few gear problems which prevented me from getting cloer to pole. It will be tough to follow Dani but I hope to be in the front group fighting for the podium again."

Hector Barbera (4th): "I am very happy because I hardly got any laps in yesterday. Today I was able to lap as I wanted to and it is great to be on the front row. The last few laps will be decisive if it is this hot tomorrow but I will give it everything and hopefully I can be on the podium."
