Valentino Rossi reflects on his third consecutive title-winning season

It already seems like a distant memory, but prior to the furore surrounding Valentino Rossi's famous switch from Honda to Yamaha, the 24 year old lifted his third consecutive MotoGP World Championship title. The Italian stood on the podium at all 16 rounds of an incredible season, taking nine victories and amassing an all-time points record total of 357 – just 43 short of the maximum haul.

In this exclusive interview with motograndprix.com, the former 125cc and 250cc World Champion takes a glance back over the season and gives his opinion on the arrival of big name riders from WSB to MotoGP, the emergence of Ducati as a major force in the championship, Sete Gibernau's surprise title challenge, and his private life away from the circuits – including his plans for life after MotoGP.
