Seedorf Racing team 125cc GP rider Alvaro Bautista dominated a very wet final round of the Spanish Championship in Jerez last weekend. It was his fifth consecutive win in what has become a straightforward title campaign for the teenager.

The CEV series in renowned for spring-boarding young GP talent. Dani Pedrosa, Toni Elias, Jorge Lorenzo and Joan Olive are just some of the names that have emerged from the ranks to make their name at World Championship level.

Bautista, who finished 20th in the 125cc standings this season with a best result of 4th at Phillip Island, completed a simple race under grey skies in southern Spain ahead of several of his GP peers. Gabor Talmasci was second and trailing Marco Simoncelli until the Italian was forced out with mechanical problems six laps from the end. Angel Rodriguez and Fabrizio Lai both crashed out in the early stages.
