Hodgson already dreaming of MotoGP debut

Neil Hodgson admits to having mixed emotions ahead of his MotoGP testing debut at Valencia in Spain on Wednesday. Hodgson is set to take part in a three-day test alongside his new D'Antin Ducati team-mate Ruben Xaus, with the pair both riding the awesome Ducati Desmosedici for the first time, and the British rider says he can hardly wait to try out the 990cc V4 machine for himself after watching it in action at the same track in the final race of the 2003 season just over a month ago.

"I've been dreaming about riding the Ducati for the last two weeks which shows I'm both excited and nervous," explained Hodgson, who dominated the World Superbike Championship last season riding for the Italian factory. "It's a big step for me with both a new bike and a new team, but I'm really up for it.

The 30 year old added that he was looking forward to getting back to what he does best after weeks of promotional activities and interviews since winning the WSB title and then announcing his big switch to MotoGP. "It will be good to be back on a racing bike again because I've not ridden since the last race of the WSB season," said Hodgson. "At least I know the Valencia track really well after winning there on a Superbike. I know every bump there and so that's a good start."
