Podium perspectives after the 250cc race in Sepang

Toni Elias, winner:

"The situation in the Championship is now a little better. Today the race was more or less the same as Japan. I was able to make some seconds on the other riders and they were not able to follow me. I want to thank Fonsi for helping. This has been a perfect weekend; we still have possibilities for the title but I just want to keep with this level of form." Manuel Poggiali, runner-up:

"I did not start the race very well and it was not possible to follow Toni once I had passed Fonsi. I was having tyre problems because the weather conditions were so different to yesterday; by the end I was lucky to get second and even to the finish line."

Fonsi Nieto, third position:

"Before the race we already had some team orders so I knew what I had to do and tried to help Toni in the beginning by slowing the pace so that he could get a few seconds. My front tyre was completely finished at the end and it was very difficult to brake late. I am not 100% happy because I like to race to win but this was a good enough result for the team and we will keep aiming to repeat this until Valencia and perhaps be in with a chance of the Championship."
