Words from the podium and World Champion in Sepang
Valentino Rossi, winner and World Champion:
"I am very happy to have won the race and also the Championship. It has been a hard but nice season with some fun GPs and I have enjoyed myself. We have worked hard to make sure that we were at the top all year. Thank you to the team, Honda, my fan club and everybody; I now have five titles and it feels fantastic."
Sete Gibernau, runner-up:
"All season we have tried to push Valentino and when we knew that we could come to races and win that made us more determined, and both the team and myself have given everything this year. Valentino is the strongest rider and I have to congratulate him; he really deserves the title. I want to thank the best team in the world, Honda, Michelin and also my sponsor, who has been awesome. There are still two races to go and we will do all we can to try and beat Valentino. Well done, also to the new 125 World Champion Dani Pedrosa."
Max Biaggi, 3rd position:
"Firstly thanks to my sponsors, the team, Honda and my fan club. It was a difficult race. I tried a different tyre to these guys and unfortunately it did not work out. The engine was also running a little bit lazy during the warm-up so I knew it would be hard. As ever I tried my best, third position is the highest I could reach and I am fine with that. Congratulations to Valentino."
